1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using TransKey ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service. These Terms apply to all users, including free and paid subscribers.

2. Description of Service

TransKey is an AI-powered translation product available as a desktop application (Windows, macOS) and an Android mobile app. On desktop it processes text you select in any app via a keyboard shortcut; on mobile it adds camera, voice, screen-scan, and a floating translation bubble. All processing is performed through third-party AI models.

Key capabilities include:

  • Real-time translation between 50+ languages.
  • Reply generation in the detected language of the original message.
  • Summarization of long-form text into concise bullet points.
  • Explanation and refinement of text.
  • Tone adaptation based on context (e.g., casual for chat, formal for email).
  • Translating text from photos of menus, signs, and documents using your camera (mobile).
  • Speaking instead of typing (voice input, mobile).
  • A floating button and on-screen scanning for translating other apps (mobile).
  • Custom glossary and a personal phrasebook for consistency and quick reference.

3. Account Registration

  • You must create an account to use the Service. You can sign up with an email and password, or by signing in with your Google account.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
  • You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
  • You agree to provide accurate information during registration and to update it as needed.
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

4. Subscription Plans & Billing

4.1 Plans

TransKey offers a Free plan with limited daily usage, a Trial period, a Mobile plan, and a Pro plan with higher limits. Plan details and pricing are listed on our website and in the app, and may change with notice.

Plans differ in which devices they work on. The Mobile plan works only on Android phones and tablets and cannot be used on the desktop app. The Pro plan works on both desktop and mobile. Which features and devices each plan includes is shown on the pricing page.

4.2 Billing

  • Pro subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly, quarterly, biannual, or annual basis depending on the plan you select.
  • Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy. All fees are stated in USD unless otherwise noted.
  • Taxes may apply depending on your jurisdiction and will be added at checkout where required.

4.3 Free Trial

If you sign up for a free trial, you will not be charged during the trial period. At the end of the trial, your account will revert to the Free plan unless you choose to subscribe to Pro.

4.4 Renewal & Cancellation

  • Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period.
  • You may cancel your subscription at any time through the app or billing portal. Access continues until the end of the current billing period.
  • No partial refunds are provided for unused portions of a billing period.

4.5 Price Changes

We may change our pricing with at least 30 days' notice. If you do not agree to a price change, you may cancel before the change takes effect.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Translate, generate, or distribute content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable.
  • Circumvent, disable, or interfere with security features, rate limits, or usage quotas.
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to extract the source code of the application.
  • Share your account credentials with others or resell access to the Service.
  • Use automated scripts or bots to access the Service beyond normal usage.
  • Violate any applicable local, national, or international law.

6. Intellectual Property

  • The TransKey application, branding, and all associated content are the intellectual property of TransKey and its licensors.
  • You keep ownership of everything you submit for translation — text, photos, and voice input. We do not claim any rights to your content.
  • Translated output generated by the Service is provided for your use. You are responsible for verifying the accuracy and appropriateness of translations for your intended purpose.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

TransKey is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that:

  • The Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
  • Translations will be accurate, complete, or suitable for any particular purpose.
  • The Service will meet your specific requirements.

AI-generated translations are approximate. For legal, medical, financial, or other high-stakes content, you should have translations reviewed by a qualified professional.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, TransKey and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of the Service, including but not limited to:

  • Loss of data, revenue, or profits.
  • Damages resulting from inaccurate translations.
  • Damages resulting from Service interruptions or downtime.

Our total liability to you for all claims arising from the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless TransKey and its operators from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service or your violation of these Terms.

10. Termination

  • You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time.
  • We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, with or without notice.
  • Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Provisions that by their nature should survive (including disclaimers, liability limitations, and indemnification) remain in effect.

11. Modifications

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or a notice within the app. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Vietnam, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the competent courts of Vietnam.
